If you live in Misawa or have passed through this quiet little town you have surely seen "the train".
I hear the train a comin' It's rollin' 'round the bend, And I ain't seen the sunshine, Since, I don't know when, I'm stuck in Misawa-shi, And time keeps draggin' on, But that train keeps a-rollin', On down from City Hall. You can't miss this huge piece of travel history. The trick of this cache is to find the nano cache somewhere on this marvelous machine. Bring your own pen for the log. This cache was placed in tribute to the original I Hear That Train A Coming placed by WanderingSon and CompassRose (who no longer appear to be active geocachers). The original had many people who watched it closely so I wanted to get it back up and running. This would be a great first cache for anyone new to the Misawa area, new to geocaching or for travelers just passing through. Decode the spoiler at the cache site only if you can't find it. The park gets rather busy, especially on family days, so you may provide some locals a little entertainment while searching. Be careful not to give the site away as the train tends to be crawling with youngsters. Happy Hunting and thanks in advance for helping me keep this location alive.

After the previous two DNF's I stopped in to check on it and there it was! Congrats on the find. BTW, if you haven't visited MiGO (Misawa Geo Cachers) website and are in the Misawa area please do. www.misawageocachers.org

We used the hint and are pretty sure we found the correct spot but didn't see anything. Is is so tiny we won't recognize it?

We didn't find it, but we'll try again tomorrow. This was our second attempt at a cache in Japan. It was difficult in TX as a large family to appear inconspicuous as we tromped through cactus fields....but we realized we stand out even MORE in Japan.....though I think anyone who saw us just thought Americans really like trains. ::snort::
