Geocache Description:

Please come find the cache that was placed to mark our engagement at Nancy's Cascades on 06/13/2009!

Since I was prohibited from doing a Geocaching themed proposal, I decided to place a cache to mark the event and to be able to tell the story!

Stephanie and I hiked here for what she thought was a routine hiking trip near the water! Little did she know what I had planned!

On the way up at every water crossing I would tell her a story, or something about our relationship that I liked or enjoyed.

Once we got to the falls we were happy to be nearly alone at this amazing spot! There was one other couple which we had met on our hike up already there.

I set up our little area and set about cooking our lunch. While lunch was cooking I went down to the other couple and asked them if they would mind hanging out for a bit and taking some photos of us when I proposed.

I brought my iPod which was loaded with a few of our special songs which we enjoyed while relaxing after lunch. After a few songs I told her that I brought a suprise for dessert and that we should go down near the water to have it. I had hidden the box in a lunch cooler from work so she wouldn't see.

As we passed the other couple I asked them if they could take a few pics of us. Once Stephanie and I were in place I asked her to open up dessert. She thought that was odd since the other couple was waiting to take photos of us!

She opened the bag and saw the Mike's Pastry box and was shocked! How did I get there since I had worked the last two days! (Little did she know I had found someone to cover me for 2 hours and I snuck to Boston to get them!) Again she was thinking we should let the other couple take some photos, but I asked her to open the box instead.

She opened it and saw the ring box! The tears started instantly! I took out the ring box and opened it for her. I then knelt down and made sure I knew which side was her left hand and tried taking the ring out of the box, which of course is a little hard when you are nervous! I then had the thought rush into my mind that we were standing on a small rock with running water all around us and that the ring was not insured yet! YIKES!

I took out the ring and placed it on her finger and asked her to marry me! What did she say? Guess you will need to visit the cache and find out! LOL

There is a un-activated coin with the log book for FTF! While you are there you might want to take a photo of yourself with the cascades and jot down some information about them just incase an earth cache pops up there in the next few day! Hint hint!
