Grenville Park is a 100+ acre park located along the Ware River.
I’ll take this opportunity to give my personal thanks to Mr.
and Mrs. Grenville Gilbert, who donated the land to the Town of
Ware in 1923 in memory of their son Grenville Gilbert, Jr. (The map
will show the listing as Greenville Park. This is an
incorrect spelling.) During your visit, there is a variety of ways
to enjoy the park, for individuals or families, year round. For
more information, visit Town
of Ware - Recreation .
The park is only open from dawn to dusk, so plan accordingly.
While the park is open year round, the road that loops throughout
the park is seasonal. When the park road is open, there is parking
available in several areas throughout the park.; however, winter
visitors will need to use the main parking area. The distance to
the cache(s) will depend on where you park. If you plan your visit
when the rhododendrons are in bloom, you are in for a treat!
The first stage is a small cylinder tube, about 2.5 inches long.
(An "Airborne" type container.) The second is a plastic Lock and
Lock, approximately 6x6x4, containing small swag items for both
kids and adults. There is an unactivated TB prize for FTF.
