Norway:
I starten brukte Sigurd Einbu ein jaktkikkert for å gjera seg kjent
på himmelen. Da han fann planeten Neptun med dette enkle utstyret,
fekk han låne ein heimlaga teleskopkikkert av målaren Knut
Bergslien. Seinare vart det kjøpt eit teleskop med objektivåpning
på 108 mm i Paris. Teleskopet vart teke ut av den kjente franske
astronomen Flammerion og finansiert av Nansenfondet. I starten vart
teleskopet lyfta ut og inn av huset når det skulle brukast.
Seinare bygde S. Einbu seg " observatorium" ved hjelp av 6 stolpar
han sette i jorda og trekt rundt med 2 1/2 m høg segelduk. For å
kunne ha utstyret ute heile tida bygde han så ei jordhole som han
kledde med panel. Taket var lemmer som han kunne slå til sides. Da
Helga og Sigurd bygde seg nytt hus, vart det laga dreibart tårn på
taket av huset.

In the beginning, used Sigurd Einbu a hunting binoculars to make
themselves known in the sky. When he found the planet Neptune with
this simple equipment, he got off to borrow a home made telescope
