Nice hike, beautiful spot.
The puppies and I haven't been up here in a while and since there aren't a lot of caches in the area and we needed a nature "fix", we headed up here to place our first multi. You will have to find stage 1 to get the coords for the final. For those of you that are used to my park and grabs, this is not one; you are going to have to go for a nice hike.
Named for the overwhelming vocal display of what must have been maybe thousands of bull frogs; saw a great blue heron on the way, a red tailed hawk, a GIANT bullfrog, and a little bird that I was worried about because it stayed near the ground seeming not to be able to fly, but was too big to be a fledgling. Then I noticed under a little "ceiling" of mud a nest with three eggs in it; it was the mama and that's why she wasn't flying away 
. Have to check my nest book to see what it was (see photos). Between the ice storm damage and the amount of rain this summer, the rocks we usually sit on were completely submerged and several feet from what is now the shoreline. Used to go up here to find an annual lady slipper, but couldn't maneuver well enough today to find it. So sit back and enjoy the voluminous sound of frog songs, the smell of azaleas and the water lillies (seasonal of course). The symphony stops for the occasional soloist, and they are accompanied by descendants of Woody Woodpecker on percussion. One of the great things about nature is that due to its constant changing, this was almost like a new and different spot today.
