It's time for Stage 3 - Compendium Repository.
This is Stage 3 in a cache race challenge that will take place
over the Summer of 2009. You don't have to find the previous cache
in the series to find the next one, but you have to find all of the
cache's to claim the prize. However, in order for your find to
qualify for the race it must be logged within 30 days of the
published date. The first 3 geocachers to find every stage will
receive a prize. For those that find the cache in the qualified
time frame there is a Bonus Prize for the cacher that can write
best log on gc.com, it can be
funny, creative, tell a story, or demonstrate sportsmanship. Write
something that will make it worth reading, not just TFTC! Each
stage will increase in either terrain or difficulty challenging
your geocaching skills. You don't have to be in the top three in
every stage, you simply have to find all the previous stages before
the final time expires, but you want to complete the series in the
top three (and I love come from behind stories). The final location
will be a puzzle that you will have to solve. You can read more

You will receive keys to the puzzle in each cache that are critical
to finding the final cache. Good luck and have fun.
Stage 3: Compendium Repository
The coordinates will place you in a vantage point to discover the
cache, but do not lead you directly to it. You will have to use
some out of the cache container thinking to locate this one. There
are 2 methods you can use to find the cache. The first method will
up the difficulty of the find, but will ultimately be more
satisying. The second will lead you right to it.
Method 1
Arrive at the location and use your resources.
Method 2
This method can be completed before reaching the location via the
internet, or once you arrive.
A) Find the number of letters in the last name of the author of
"The Sigma Protocol."
B) Find the number of letters in the last name of the author of
"The Geocaching Handbook"and subtract from the number of letters in
the last name of the author of "The Flames of Rome".
C) Find the number of letters in the last name of the author of the
"Red Glove Series".
D) Find the number of letters in the last name of the author of
"The Death of Truth".
E) Subtract the initials of the author of "The Horse and His Boy"
from the authors last name.
