BPJC: M1 Junction 29: Charmeleon Charm Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Slightly Tall Paul: Time to put this one to bed. It's been muggled a few times now, the latest one having undone a chain to take a bison tube and leaving the battered outer container behind. Unfortunately Ground Zero now has a well-defined cachers' trail and some curious muggle will inevitably find any replacement cache[:(]

Thank you to all visitors and especially to those of you who suggested a name for the cache[:)]

Geocache Description:

Update:27/11/2011; The cache has been stolen (for the second time) and has been replaced temporarily with a disguised micro. Don't forget that if you find the cache, you can choose a new name for it! Good luck!

This is an entry for Most Found cache in The Birdman Of Liskatraz's Peach Jar Challenge.

This cache is an easy find for anyone heading past Junction 29 of the M1 in Derbyshire.

The cache is a disguised micro containing log only, so bring your own pen and is actually located within the roundabout of Junction 29 on a little used tarmac public footpath. There are three parking options; nearest is no.1, a layby on the A617 dual carriageway towards Chesterfield. Immediately opposite this layby is the short lane that leads to cache GC11ZQ4 Mostly Haunted - The Green Lady which can be done at the same time (but be careful crossing the road!) No.2 is the carpark for Twin Oaks Hotel, which prepares an excellent carvery and is a great place to stop for dinner. If using this option, park at the far end of the hotel and you will see the public footpath clearly marked beyond the luxury suites. Option no.3 is for cachers who prefer a longer walk and is to park in Doe Lea and take the footpath up the hill. All three options will lead to a short tunnel which will take you into the centre of the roundabout, so at no time will you need to cross a road. Although the footpath is tarmac, it has not been maintained so is unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs with small wheels.

Now for the Unique Selling Point You can choose the name of the cache and select it's theme! When set it was named for my daughter Eleanor and contained a logbook with pencil and pen, a badge for First-to-Find, Something Sweet, which is a small jellybean GeoCoin and a dozen different miniature figurines of Hello Kitty, the little kitten that loves to make friends. This is simply the starting theme, so for example if you like a cache that contains marbles, then fill the jar with marbles and post in your Found It log the name that you wish the cache to be known by, such as Bob's Marbles Cache. It could be Bill's Golfball Cache or Gemma's Candles Cache or Keiran's Ben10 Cache or even Howard's Empty Cache! Of course you don't have to select a theme or make any swaps at all, just choose a new name for the cache. I'll change the cache name to the most recent finder's choice as often as I can
