Geocache Description:

July is National Hot Dog Month, and according to the National Hot Dog Council, Americans will be consuming the infamous little red tubes of "meat" in record numbers this summer. This cache is to celebrate Hot Dogs!

The National Hot Dog Council estimates that over seven billion hot dogs will be eaten by Americans between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During the July 4th weekend alone (the biggest hot-dog holidays of the year), 155 million will be downed.Every year, Americans eat an average of 60 hot dogs each.

On a more somber note, ironically, Oscar Mayer III passed away this month ( July 2009 ) National Hot Dog Month. Oscar was the third Oscar to head up the family business and was instrumental in bringing the Weinermobile to the American public.
