This cache was mentioned on the Cache-A-Maniacs podcast episode #151

I grew up in this area of Edmonton before a series of moves including Wabamum and Stony Plain before moving back for a second time in the old house. After finishing University (University of Alberta, B.Ed. Class of 1998) I moved to Ft. Resolution, NT and a few other places before settling in Regina, SK. Don't laugh, I was one of the few to be moving from Alberta to Saskatchewan before it was cool to do so.

The posted co-ordinates are bogus. They belong to an old corner store that my Dad took me to frequently. The store was owned by a guy named Earl who would sometimes let me have a free Revel – that was what I always got there. About a year after moving away the first time, Earl was killed by thieves robbing his store. It was the first time I knew someone who had died. It's scary how, in seconds, life can change so dramatically.

Over time that store became another corner store, a hair salon with a huge limo in front of it, and a real estate office. Looks like it's having a second chance as a hair salon.

In order to find this cache, you will have have to get the information from the clue in my first ever cache (GC1RH4R) “When the Student is Ready...”. I placed it on a laminated piece of paper inside the cache itself. Please do not share the Regina information with other Edmonton geocachers unless you are a part of a team looking for this cache.

You will be looking for a soup thermos, suitable for geocoins and small Travelbugs.

I have family in Edmonton who are willing to maintain the cache as needed. I will let them know when maintenance is requested, please make the appropriate log entries when needed.

This cache contains a laminated piece paper that contains a clue for another cache in Regina GC1VX7A (From Edmonton With Love). You may share this clue with the same cacher in Regina that helped you find this cache.

Bring your own pen(cil), and be prepared to help a fellow or gal from Regina out.

A Regina cacher may claim this as a find if
  1. They provide the clue to an Edmonton Cacher
  2. The Edmonton cacher signs the Regina cacher into the physical log
  3. The Regina cacher does NOT provide the clue to any other cacher

I am logging this as my Edmonton contact has found it!
I must say this puzzle caused us both some frustration, some emails back and forth, and finally a little push in the right direction and we finally had the coords.
Thanks to dronnord for making the find. Now to try for the one in Regina, hopefully I can make it this week.

Our caching buddy, Bhanowski, found this cache while he was in Edmonton with his kids on a band trip So he brought back the hints for us to find the next cach. Thanks to Brad for doing this for us as we'd tried with 3 other Edmonton cachers . Thanks again B. for doing this cache for us.

bhanowski found the cache.

I was a chaperone for Son #1's band trip to Edmonton, so why not grab a few caches along the way? Especially this one.

I also signed Trillium03 into the log book since they helped me solve the puzzle to obtain the final coordinates for Irae.

Took: Nothing (Except the clue for From Edmonton With Love).
Left: Nothing (Dipped some geocoins for the kilometers).
Signed the log.

Thanks for the hunt. Now to find the cache in Regina!
