Geocache Description:


The sankyoson is a village dotted with houses among the mansion forest.
A paddy field spreads out between each houses, and the inhabitant cultivates it around each houses.
The sankyoson in tonami plain is one of the Japanese three major scattered houses villages.

散居村とは、碁盤の上に撒き散らされた碁石のように、平野一面に屋敷林に囲まれた家々が点在する集落の形態を言います。
各家々の間には水田が広がり、各家庭の周りをその家の人が耕作しています。
島根県の出雲平野、岩手県の胆沢平野、富山県の砺波平野の散居村は日本三大散居村と呼ばれています。
