Welcome everyone to the
first ever City of Clovis supported Geocaching
event.
There will be 30
new caches placed throughout the City of Clovis all with an FTF
(First to Find) trinket guaranteeing you the prize set
aside for that specific cache. Not to worry though, if you’re not
FTF you still get a raffle ticket for every cache you find good for
the general raffle. So the more you find the more chances you have
to win! Please obey all traffic laws as we want this to be a
positive experience for all. When you sign in you will
receive a passport to stamp at each location you visit. There will
be a different stamp in each container and you must stamp
your passport to receive credit for finding the
cache. The number of stamped locations in your passport will
determine the number of raffle tickets you will receive.
When: September
26th 2009
Where: Clovis
Civic Center located at 1033 Fifth Street, or just follow the
coordinates listed above.
What
Time: 10:00AM Sign in, passport distribution, and rules of the
game. 11:00AM it's off to the races to find as many of the thirty
hidden caches you can. Be back at GZ (ground zero) at 5:00PM
sharp to collect your raffle tickets. The raffle will begin at
5:30PM sharp so don't be late, you must be present to
win!
This will
be a great "FREE" event for the whole family to enjoy and everyone
that attends will get their own passport and one raffle ticket for
prize eligibility. There will also be a travel bug/geocoin exchange
so bring any trackables that you want moved. It's not necessary to
participate in the cache run to log the event as a find, so come on
out even if you can't make a day of it, we would love to have
you.
Please
put this on your watch list to receive event
updates.
We are
doing everything we can to get loaner/rental GPS units, but if you
have access to one please bring it. If you own an iPhone there is
an application you can download that will allow you to geocache
using it. Please go to this link for instructions.

We would love to make this an annual event but we need
the support of the local and surrounding communities so please
invite as many people as you can. See ya
there!
UPDATE - I am working on a GPX
file for the event caches that I plan to make available for
download. Please keep this event on your watch list for further
details.
