Geocache Description:

Easy to get to cache if your flight's delayed in Oakland. The cache container is ~~small (large micro)~~ unknown so it won't hold much. Initially stocked with a small geocoin, a digitalfish, and a signature glass frog. Enjoy the view.

This cache is at Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Shoreline... part of the fantastic East Bay Regional Park system. The park is closed during posted hours. EB Parks curfew is from 10pm to 5am. The gates to MLK were open this morning at 8am when I placed the cache... that's mid-summer. There's 3 separate parking areas when you enter off Swan Way (which isn't the only way to approach the area)... drive to the last one... basically a dead end... and you're a stones throw from the cache. You may be tempted to leave the motor running, but make believe this is gonna take more than 5 minutes and turn that puppy off.

This is the first cache I ever placed. It steals a little bit from the first cache I ever found, and because it's near and dear to my heart I will occasionally use it to launch trinkets like small geocoins.

WARNING: The distance between where you enter the gate on Swan Way and the parking area is about 3/4 mile. This is a posted 15 MPH speed limit zone... and there was a Regional Parks officer vigorously enforcing that speed limit the day I placed this cache (a Saturday) from a spot a geocacher could almost admire... unless you were a geocacher in a hurry. SO BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR as you drive thru here (no... I didn't get a ticket... but I could have easily).

NOTE 11/17/11: Muggles have made it necessary to replace the cache container with a more devious hide. It is now a log-only cache. Sorry.
