Geocache Description:

Our 4th Annual SETX Gang Octoberfest 2009 October 10th, 2009 9a.m. until... Claiborne-West Park, Vidor, TX (Orange County), Pavilion #2

We will have our regular festivities for this fall event including a pot luck lunch, some geo games, new caches in the area to help keep your numbers up, and a geocache creating contest for more information see setxgang.com

There will be food and fun for everyone! We will have running water and electricity. If you wish to offer a dish or volunteer to bring supplies, please join our discussion forum @ www.setxgang.com (Note: There is no alcohol allowed anywhere in the park) Several temporary and new permanent caches will be setup for the event. We will also have FlameIt's Ammo cans as doorprizes and for auction again.

We have decided to have a cache container contest, and have borrowed most of the rules from a contest held at this year’s Texas Challenge.
Two Divisions in the Contest: Small & Below:
From nanos to sandwich-sized Tupperware-style containers or similar, less than approximately 1 quart
Regular & Above:
From larger Tupperware-style containers to ammo cans or larger
Two Categories in each Division:
Most Creative: Imaginative, interesting, cute -- overall creative in design and execution.
Most Challenging: Evil, difficult, well-camoed -- overall challenging in design and execution

Awards will be presented to all winners. Prizes will be awarded to the “First Place” winners. Of course, there is also that intangible reward: peer recognition!

More information on the park can be found here Claiborne West Park

We haven't gathered it into one place since MakeItSo's note in late August, so far we have firm commitments for: Plasticware, Plates, Cups, & Paper towels Condiments – Mustard, Mayo, Ketchup, & Relish Sliced Bread 5# of sliced beef & Hamburger Buns, 5# of Zummo links & Hot Dog Buns, 5# of chipped beef, bottled water, soft drinks, ice, Redcar's potato salad, Chicken's banana pudding, Kande's Southwestern Soup or dessert. Feel free to contribute whatever, if posted on www.setxgang.com, it will help others to decide what to bring.

As Mudfrog posted there is construction going on that makes getting to the park a little confusing: If you're coming in from the west. Just make sure to take the exit 864, the Hwy 1132/1135 exit and stay on the service road all the way. It will make the u turn loop under the Cow Bayou bridge thereby putting you on the westbound service road where Claiborne Park comes up shortly afterwards. For those coming in from the east, Use exit 864 Doty Road / Hwy 1135 exit then make the u turn loop under the next bridge that comes up. You'll then be heading back to the east where you'll stay on the service road until you make the u turn loop under the Cow Bayou bridge.
