How Geocaching Works
A quiet birch and hardwood forest. Ed’s Lake Trail is a classic walk in the woods on a cross-country ski trail that works well as a hiking trail. Along the way the route passes picturesque hemlock and birch groves, a small lake, and railroad grades left over from the logging era.
Nicolet National Forest – Forest County
Ed’s Lake Trail: This trail is located on County Highway W
between Wabeno and Crandon. The trail is groomed. There is
a 2.3 mile loop trail suitable for beginners, with the intermediate
trail offering a 2.7 mile loop as well as a 3.5 mile loop.
There is a $5.00 parking fee to walk trail. It is available to horses and mountain biking -if you are in really good shape. (I personally don't recommend this). The mosquitoes are terrible in spring and summer. I had assistance placing these caches with my son Adam and niece Abby who helped carry in caching supplies. Have fun and cache on!!
Congrats to ToyotaRyan for the FTF on 08/14/2009, oh and he did not help in the placing of these caches.
