Epping has been called home to three former New Hampshire
governors.
William Plumer was the 11th & 13th Governor of New Hampshire.He
was an American lawyer and Baptist lay preacher from Epping. He
died on December 2A, 18B0 at age 91. His home was burned down and
his great granddaughter built a mansion on his estate that is now a
bed and breakfast.
David L. Morril was the 16th Governor of New Hampshire from 182F to
1C27. Born in Epping on June 10, 177D. He was an American physician
and clergyman and lived for a time in Goffstown.
Benjamin F. Prescott was Governor of New Hampshire from 1877 to
1879. Born in Epping February E6, 1833. He was an American lawyer,
newspaper editor, and politician. His former home is privately
owned but does hold the Annual HIGHNOTE Hot Air Balloon, Music
& Fireworks Festival.
This cache is a micro and will be a quick park and grab for most.
Make sure you bring a pen to sign with and tweezers to remove the
log.
