Maids Quarters, located outside Larnach Castle property, is near top of Camp Rd, access is driveable to the the right down a gravel road from Castle entrance. Ruined quarters are in bush on left about 100m down the road, there is a spot to park at a turn off, also good place to turn around, quarters are a bit further down road from this, keep eyes on the bush and you'll see the ruins.

Cache is small snaplock container, contains coin, stone, yoyo, whistle.

The cache is located in the so called Maids Quarters of Larnach Castle, this is outside the boundaries and not accessible from the castle grounds anymore. you can also walk to cache spot from bottom of Camp St on the Portebello rd, it is a decent uphill walk and nice on a sunny day, passes though a bit of farmland and meets up with Camp Rd, all public access.

Reading previous logs before we came, we disregarded our magic arrows. After parking, we had a wee walkaround, admiring the views, then looked for the best way into the bush. There was a fairly well-established path of sorts which seemed the most logical to follow - and sure enough, there were the Maids' Quarters. Quite impressive, and very Indiana Jones (am I showing my age?). With the hint in hand, there were only a couple of places the cache could be, and it was soon found and signed. We had a bit of a wander around the building, admiring the way the trees and bush have grown in and around the walls. Very nice place - but how did you ever know it was here? Once again, geocaching takes us to places we'd never otherwise go, or even know about! TFTC

Wow what a site must have been a awesome quarters before all the trees took over and ruined the place maybe the historic trust could give it a lease of life again and chop those sycamore trees down too. I'm sure that place is steep in history. TFTC nice area that I am sure not too many people know about
