Kodomo no Kuni (Children's Land)

The cache comes to you courtesy of CATMCommando (thank you!) and is located in a large park in Hachinohe that encompasses both "Kodomo no Kuni", or "Children's Land", and the Hachinohe Botanical Gardens. Both are extremely worth of a visit regardless of whether you've got children, but children will especially enjoy Kodomo no Kuni, which is a small-scale amusement park complete with ferris wheel, merry-go-round, a miniature roller coaster, a kid-sized train, a pedal-driven sky-tram, farm animals, and other fun stuff (as well as -- naturally -- a plethora of traditional Japanese fair-type fare such as soba, onigiri, chicken nuggets, flavored ice, ice cream, etc). Bring money to buy tickets for the rides if you want; they're Y110 each and you'll typically need one or two for each attraction. Note that the Children's Land doesn't operate on Mondays or the Tuesday after a national holiday that falls on a Monday.

The botanical gardens are large and sprawling and there are plenty of interesting things to see (large statues, water gardens, and plenty of places to set up a picnic.

The cache is set up in one of the local features. Watch out for muggles: in the early morning, the primary muggle threat is from one of the park's parking lots which is right next to the cache location. At lunch time, the muggle threat is from the other side, which is a popular place for people to set up picnics. Make sure you bring your camera -- this place is too neat to miss taking photos.

I have placed a very explicit hint in the hint area - I tell you exactly where the cache is (and it's a pill-sized nanocache). My goal is not to have you tearing apart the cache location; rather, it's to get you to the park in the first place, because that's the real prize for this cache. Please feel free to decode the hint so that you can discretely go straight to the cache and then enjoy the rest of your time in this amazing and huge park!

First to Find! Thanks Jackalgirl for bringing us to this cool little park. Muggles were everywhere but Abject and I were able to grab this one and log the visit. Thanks again!
