Geocache Description:

Hiking Urban No-Brainer Cache hide.

the alternate name for this cache was "dreaming of jean and joe" but it had a little L.U.N.C.H. mixed in. Many people don't like caches like this in the desert. We are owners of several size three caches on the 100 trail and went out today to fill in the gap. We got jealous of other people having power trails so we are kinda going for it. This guy is a great one to either start with or end with. It may turn out to be more difficult that we think it is but right now it is a two/two. I hope you have tweezers or a pen cap to retrieve the log sheet.

Trail #100 - Charles M. Christiansen Memorial Trail Length: 10.7 miles, allow 4-5 hours to hike entire length Elevation: 2,080 ft. - 1,290 ft Total Elevation gain: 200 ft Difficulty: Easy to moderate; an end to end trail. Multi-use trail Facilities: None at the eastern trailhead. Mountain View Park and Dreamy Draw Park have restrooms, water and picnic areas. History: Early in this century, North Mountain served as a campground for the Phoenix Indian School, but also has a number of closed mining shafts and pits, due to copper mining in the area. The trail was named after Charles Milo Christiansen, avid hiker and also longtime director of Phoenix Parks and Recreation from 1969 to 1982. One trailhead end/start area is at Mountain View Park, off of 7th Avenue and north of Dunlap, where there is the dedication monument to Christiansen, who passed away in 1985. Hike Description: Traverses the Phoenix Mountains Preserve west to east and serves as the major artery for the trail system in the Phoenix Mountains. Trail is relatively flat except for the section between Squaw Peak Freeway and Cave Creek Road has a few sections of steep areas. Some loose rock areas and rocky terrain. Good trail for inexperienced mountain bike riders okay,

well after one find someone was stopped by a park ranger and they informed them that original placement was a restricted area. We had not seen any signs when placing but when you come from the other side you see them we have moved the cache it is now located inches from the trail and still should be fine. there is a tree near by but it is not the right structure congratulations to smithzoo for ftf
