Geocache Description:

This cache has been set for the 'I LOVE GEOCACHING' event on 26th Feb 2011. This well is part of a series around Aberdeen. A history of the wells can be found on The Gibberie Wallie Well cache page.

There is scant information available for this well which is situated at the gateway of St Machar's Cathedral, Old Aberdeen. Built of ashlars with a pyramid top, it dates from the 18th century, street wells being introduced into Old Aberdeen around 1773.

The well itself is not within the graveyard of St Machar Cathedral and nor is the cache, so please do not search in the graveyard. Thank you.
