The John Wilson Ocean Drive has recently been reopened to both cars
and pedestrians. During weekdays, from one hour after sunrise to
one hour before sunset you can drive to the location. Other times
you will need to walk from the pedestrian access at S45 54.453 E
170 31.099. There is parking available at this spot.
The cache itself is off the road a few metres into the bush. If
driving you would probably need to park at the lawyer's head
turning area and then walk back a few metres. In the weekends and
night it is a pleasant walk, cycle, skateboard or scooter to the
location.
And now for the change of plan... Instead of driving to the cache
location you will need to make the 3km round trip to pick it up.
The gates are closed to vehicles for the meantime. Pedestrian
access is still fine 24/7.
