Have a seat beside the cliffs and enjoy the views!
The stroll along to this viewing spot can start from the bottom of Taronga Rd - this will take about 20 minutes with no big hills to climb.
Various wild flowers were blooming at the time of cache placement. You may like to also find the cache "Alum Cliffs: Have a Picnic" GC1Z4JK at the start of the trail.
This path continues on to Kingston Beach with the viewing spot nearly halfway along. You can park closer to the cache at Wootten Drive but it's a fairly steep, though short walk back up to the car.
The original cache was hidden at the base of the large trunked trees behind the seat.
I replaced the cache 26th Feb 2013 in a slightly different hide, 3 and 1/2 years after the original was hidden. It had been hurled over the cliff and found some time later by dreapadoir on a rocky shore at Tinderbox, who very kindly took it home, dried it out and returned it to me. That original logbook had entries by quite a few people looking for rocks to throw over the edge of the cliff: it seems they'll throw anything over that's not bolted down. I think that's why it's hide had been compromised.
Next replacement 22 Jan 2015 in the same hide which I'll try one more time: to the left, away from the seat (when facing the river) within the outer "V" made by two tracks.
30/3/2016 and after a DNF I go to find the hide had "moved" about two metres closer to the cliff edge from the coordinates. I re-jigged things and we'll see how it goes.
