HANSEL AND GRETEL
“Hansel and Gretel are the children of a poor woodcutter. Fearing starvation, the woodcutter's wife …convinces him to lead the children into the forest and abandon them there. Hansel and Gretel hear her plan and gather white pebbles from the front garden to leave themselves a trail home. After their return, their mother clears all the pebbles from the front garden when she learns the children used them to find their way back. She subsequently convinces the woodcutter to abandon them again further in the forest so they cannot find their way back; this time however, they can only leave a trail of breadcrumbs. Unfortunately, the various animals of the woods eat their trail of breadcrumbs, causing Hansel and Gretel to become lost…” * (and the tale goes on, but that is another story)

A CACHE
Esta cache é particularmente dedicada aqueles que, como eu, apreciam percorrer os caminhos da serra de Sintra, desfrutando dos vários aspectos de que a natureza aí se reveste e que a tornam um local de grande beleza e agradabilidade, qualquer que seja o tempo que se faça sentir.
A maior parte do percurso faz-se por largos caminhos de terra, embora por vezes com algum declive, e só na abordagem de alguns dos pontos é que se torna necessário vencer algumas dificuldades (arbustos espinhosos, rochedos). É portanto uma cache que pode ser feita por todas as pessoas, que apreciem caminhadas em montanha.
A cache propriamente dita consiste num conjunto de 4 caches secundárias, estando em cada uma delas as coordenadas da cache seguinte, até à cache final. Desta forma, tal como no conto dos irmãos Grimm, basta seguirem a pista de migalhas para chegarem ao destino…na esperança que, ao contrário do conto, nenhum animal as tenha comido.
As coordenadas publicadas correspondem á localização da primeira dessas caches.
THE CACHE
This cache is dedicated to all those who, like myself, enjoy hiking the trails of serra de Sintra, benefiting from nature in every way it is manifested there and that contribute to the place’s great beauty and pleasantness, to be enjoyed in any kind of weather.
Most of the way will be done along wide, although, in same places, steep trails and only when approaching some of the caches will it be necessary to overcome obstacles (brambles, boulders). It is therefore a cache accessible to any person who enjoys mountain trekking.
The cache is composed of 4 secondary caches that each hold the information required to find the next cache, until the final cache. So all you have to do is, like the children in the Grimm brother’s tale, follow the breadcrumb trail…hoping that, unlike the tale, no animal has eaten them.
The published coordinates give the location of the first cache.
