Helpohko talvilöydettävä tradikätkö Vaakkoilla
This quite easy traditional cache in the Vaakkoi area can also be found in the winter.
Mustela lutreola (vesikko eli tuhkuri) on alkuperäinen eurooppalainen näätäeläin. Vesikko on luokiteltu hävinneeksi Suomesta, viimeinen varmistettu havainto Suomessa on vuodelta 1992 Sotkamosta. Täälläkään sitä ei siis näy, eikä sillä näin ollen ole muuta yhteyttä tähän kätköön kuin läheinen järvi, jonka vesi välkkyy puiden lomasta.
Mustela lutreola (european mink) is largely restricted to Europe. A century ago it was widespread throughout the continent. However, over the last 150 years it has severely declined and been extirpated or greatly reduced over most of its former range. In Finland the last observation was in Sotkamo 1992. That’s why it can’t be seen here either. The only connection to this cache is the name of the lake nearby.
