Ryougoku Public Hall was constructed by the Tokyo municipal administration investigation committee based on the contribution of the Yasuda financial clique. It is at 1926 to complete (1926). The memory of the earthquake was fresh time. The difference is not in reflecting of this building because of burnt to death of tens of thousands of people due to a fire at the earthquake, and turning of this place region into the burnt ground like the symbol of the revival in the adjoining clothes place.
However, the public hall was applied to food pantries, and after it had defeated it, requisitioned as occupation troops' clubs when the war under would be faced before long. It can be said that it is checkered destining it with the building played at.
It becomes old now and use has been stopped.

両国公会堂は安田財閥の寄付金をもとに、東京市政調査会によって建設されました。竣工したのは大正15年(1926）。震災の記憶も生々しい時期でした。隣接する被服所では、震災時の火事により数万人もの人が焼死し、本所一帯は焦土と化したのですから、この建物は復興の象徴のように映ったに違いありません。
しかし、やがて戦時下を迎えると、公会堂は食料配給所に当てられ、敗戦後には進駐軍のクラブとして接収されました。数奇な運命に翻弄された建築物といえます。
公会堂の玄関は隅田川沿いの通りに面しています。
この玄関部の背後に円形のホールがあります。
800席たらずの小さな劇場ですが、
江東地区の基幹劇場として 様々な出来事にいろどられています。
現在は老朽化により使用を停止されるに至りましたが
何とか残しておいて欲しい建物です
