The NWO Geocachers have adopted a highway!!!!




Located at the western edge of our 2 k.m stretch of highway we have adopted, there is a highway pull over on either side of the highway.

Thanks to the hard work of cacher Chrisdom , we officially adopted a 2 kilometer stretch of highway.

On Saturday Oct. 17, 2009 the Norwestern Ontario Geocachers had their first cito event (cache in trash out) and it was a huge success. We managed to remove 27 bags of trash, along with tires, a door from a camper, plywood and chunks of tire from 18 wheelers. An Adopt a Highway sign will be erected in the near future.

The cache is not meant to be difficult, it is to show and promote OUR section of highway.The cache is located in a pine tree plantation, growing in rows, but signal strength is going to be your biggest enemy here. Good thing it is a 30 cal. ammo can. The cache does contain trash bags, as well as some quality buck store loot. Trade even or don't trade at all, just sign the log. If you are in the mood, feel free to take a trash bag, and cito your heart out around the pullover. When done leave the bag in the corner of the pullover, and the trash fairy will come along and take it away.

DO NOT cito along the highway, unless it is at our next event. If you do not want to cito, that's fine too, just enjoy the cache, the area, and the challenge these trees can present.
