Geocache Description:


Approach
1) Turn to Ady Endre street from the centre of the village. Leave your car at the parking lot by the end of the street.
2) By the church at the end of the village go uphill on the road, take a left by its end, leave your car at the parking lot.
3) From the Zalaegerszeg – Zalalövö bike trail turn by its midway for the village and head towards the church. Go uphill on the road, take a left by its end.
From each direction approach and go to the other end of the rampart, up the stairs. The box is like a couple of hundred metres away, close to the pond.

The first written proof of Zalaszentgyörgy dates back to 1326. The Turkish army ransacked and destroyed the village on its way towards Vienna in 1532 and also in 1664. The church was built in the 13th century and its patron saint is Saint George.
