Psycho on the Peninsula
Ever wonder if there is a real place like Bates Motel anywhere, well perhaps so, and where on the Olympic peninsula near Discovery Bay. A simple old farm house where Mama could be looking out the upstairs window assuring that her wishes are being followed. Norman working in the office checking in folks and then wondering how he could make their stay a little extra long. Hehehe. Marion taking her shower perhaps without singing. Many cachers can picture that from the memories of the 1960 film Psycho, then followed by Psycho II and III.
Well our motel is not the Bates, but the Valley View Motel built from the 1940's to the 1950's once called the Moa-tel. Each little cabin is equipped with what a person would need for a pleasant stay, right on Discovery Bay and Highway 20 to Port Townsend.
The old house in the foreground is the Moa home built in 1899 by a pioneer family still living in the neighborhood. In fact if you go to the Discovery Bay Cemetery Cache you can stop and visit folks that even lived here in this house.
There is not much more I can tell you of this cache except do it and possible stay a night at the motel, you may enjoy your visit.
This cache is being sent out today for a happy 2009 Halloween. There is a new Golden dollar for the first to find. The cache can hold some very small things, bat wings are always nice.
A hardy Yarr to the Pirates who got the gold first, Congrads and a HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
