Wooded area on approach to Eccleston Mere, used regularly by dog walkers for access to the mere. Roadside parking available at N53 26.445 W002 46.547
I've worked at Eccleston Mere and the surrounding area as a ranger for a good twelve years now, so only fitting that my first go at hiding a cache would be here ... hence the title. This traditional locktop cache box is placed in order to allow you a start point for my first attempt at a multi cache named "Jess's Run" which is close by. This box also contains a number of small laminates with the instructions for that cache printed on them, they are also available on that caches webpage. I hope you decide to take up the challenge if not then at least enjoy this cache. Thank you.

January 3 by Tap on the Head (440 found)
Decided to get out with the family for an hour while it was clear and bright. However the side roads for parking were the first challenge with ice on many of them and on the pavements after yesterday's heavy hail and sleet shower. Nevertheless we persevered along the frozen paths and found the cache fairly quickly. Took the Scleswig Holstein TB and left some that I needed to move on. No sign of the other TB that was supposed to be there. We had intended moving on to the next cache near the mere but the path alongside the brook was too dangerous so it will give us an excuse for a wander on another day.

Tap on the Head etc.
