Pocumtuck Ridge Cache

you will help you understand the meaning of the cache
name.
This is one of a
series of geocaches along the Pocumtuck Ridge. A portion of your
hike follows the blue blazed ridge trail. Unfortunately, every
trail on this part of the ridge is blazed blue.
You can park at the
gate on Pine Nook Rd. Proceed up the service road. [In recent
years, due to the communications towers, this gate has been open
and the road quite passable with a vehicle with decent
clearance.]
If you have just found
Pocumtuck Ridge Cache #6 – Father's Day
Cache you can follow the well established Ridge Trail
south.
The cache is a regular
sized Lock-and-Lock container. As you approach the cache area you
will need to bushwhack a short distance.
The 3.5 terrain rating
is primarily for the length (1.2 miles from the gate but only .25
of a mile from Pocumtuck Ridge Cache #6 – Father's Day
Cache).
You will be delighted
with great views from this area. Each season will offer its own
rewards.
