Deze cache is onderdeel van de De Haven van ’t Gooi cache
serie. Deze neemt U mee op een historische toer door het Gooise
dorp Huizen. De serie bestaat uit 6 traditionele en één Mystery
cache. Door het loggen van de 6 traditionele caches verzamel je de
eindcoördinaten van de laatste Mystery eindcache genaamd
“Vissersvriend”, die tevens de thuislocatie is van
travel bug – HAVEN VAN ’T GOOI. Veel plezier tijdens
deze Haven van ‘t Gooi cache serie en publiceer geen
foto’s van de caches aub.
This cache is part of the Haven van ’t Gooi cache serie. This
serie will take you on a historical tour through the village of
Huizen. The serie contains of 6 traditional and one Mystery cache.
You will collect the coordinates of Mystery cache Vissersvriend
(Fisherman’s Friend) by logging all 6 traditionals. End cache
Fisherman’s friend is also the home cache of travel bug
– HAVEN VAN ‘T GOOI. Have fun during this Haven van
‘t Gooi cache serie and don’t publish pictures of the
caches please.
Van de vroege geschiedenis is niet veel bekend. Naar alle
waarschijnlijkheid moet de kerk in 1409 gereed zijn gekomen,
tegelijkertijd met de toren. Het enige is misschien wel dat in 1480
het koor aan de kerk is toegevoegd. In 1577 wordt het dorp
getroffen door een windhoos, waarbij het dak van het schip van de
kerk wordt geblazen. Het zou zestig jaren duren voordat de schade
hersteld was. Naar wordt aangenomen ontbrak het de kerk aan
voldoende middelen om de kerk in korte tijd weer op te bouwen. Pas
in 1637 was de kerk weer klaar en werd onder het predikantschap van
Johannes Peet in gebruik genomen. Van deze tijd dateren veel
voorwerpen in de kerk. Tot 1830 werden belangrijke mensen in de
kerk begraven, na deze tijd mag dat niet meer. Onder de houten
vloerplanken liggen nog grafzerken. Overigens werden ‘gewone'
mensen rond de kerk begraven buiten het gebouw. Sinds de
90’er jaren is het silhouet van de Oude kerk ook in de avond
goed zichtbaar. Daarmee is de toren ook ’s avonds tot een
sieraad voor het dorp.
Deze cache ligt midden in Muggle gebied. Let op dat je de locatie
niet verraad!! Daarom een hogere moeilijkheidsgraad! BELANGRIJK:
NIET OVER HEKKEN OF MUREN KLIMMEN AUB! Een rondje om de kerk helpt!
(Deze locatie is besproken met de beheerders, zij vinden het goed
en laten wij dit gaarne zo houden).
From the early history not much is known. Presumably construction
with the tower was finished in 1409. The side wing was build in
1480. In 1577 a storm blew the roof of the church and it would take
60 years to repairs this. Lack of financial funds seemed to be the
problem back then. In 1637 the church was ok again and the preacher
Johannes Peet took over the community at that time. Lots of
artifacts in the church dates back to that period. Till 1830
important people were buried in the church, after that year this
was fore bidden. Civilians were buried outside the church. Since
the 90s the church is visible at night and has become the jewel of
the village.
The cache is in the middle of muggle territory. Make sure you keep
the location hidden!! That’s why we have a higher difficulty
rate here. There is always one entrance open, pls do not climb over
gates or walls! IMPORTANT: DON'T CLIMB OVER THE GATES OR THE WALLS!
Walking around the church helps! (This location is discussed with
the responsible of the church. They are ok with it and lets keep it
that way).
