Geocache Description:

Located at a boat launch area next to the East Branch of the Union River. Parking is available close to the cache and there is a very short bushwhack to the cache location. Should remain winter-friendly. I believe the cache sits exactly on the Mariaville/Waltham town line.

There is a stretch of rapids next to the cache with a wide pool below that. I have come here often to fish but with only moderate success. However, it's a very pretty spot during all four seasons.

This is private land so feel free to CITO and respect the fact that this has been opened up for public use. Signs have been posted giving permission for access and many people launch canoes and small boats to fish along the river. Parking should not be a problem.

The cache is a Tupperware-type container, perhaps 8" square, with room for coins and TB's. I have included a new type of FTF pin with the log to wear on your hat or lanyard. I'm also trying to get away from zip-lock bags for my logs...I've never seen one last very long. Finally, I put in 3 geotokens for a free geocoin from EatStayPlay.com Cool!!

Enjoy your ride in the countryside and the stop at this pretty location.
