Geocache Description:

This cache is a small lock and lock container. It was initially stocked with small ceratopsid dinosaurs.

Triceratops was a herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur which lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, around 68 to 65 million years ago in what is now North America. It was one of the last dinosaurs to appear before the great Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event. Bearing a large bony frill and three horns on its large four-legged body, Triceratops is one of the most recognizable of all dinosaurs. Although it shared the landscape with and was preyed upon by the fearsome Tyrannosaurus, it is unclear whether the two did battle in the manner often depicted in museum displays and popular images.

Individual Triceratops are estimated to have reached about 29.5 feet in length, 10 feet in height, and 13 tons in weight. The most distinctive feature is their large skull, among the largest of all land animals. It could grow to be over 7 feet in length, and could reach almost a third of the length of the entire animal. It bore a single horn on the snout, above the nostrils, and a pair of horns approximately 3 feet long, with one above each eye.

Young children should feel free to take one of the Dinos without replacement. When the contents drop below 1-2 saurians, leave a note in the log and I'll try to top off the container.
