Geocache Description:

I like hiking in the Middlesex Fells and finding caches there. In fact I found two caches near Bear Hill today and decided to place two new caches in the same area.

The closest parking for this cache is on Fallon Rd. There are several ways up Bear Hill, some pretty steep, hence the terrain rating. There are probably terrain 1.5 approaches to the cache area, but they might be longer. Either way you will need to bushwhack a short distance at the end. There are some thorns, but they can be avoided fairly easily, just watch where you step. I don't know if poison ivy will be a major issue in the summer - let me know in your log, if it is.

Don't miss the nice views from Bear Hill Tower and the nearby "Paine's 1st Cache" and "April Fools Cache" and the other cache I placed on the same day, "The Nail in the Coffin". I hope you enjoy the hike and the cache!

Congrats to bootsrmade4walking on their first FTF!

Update 6/13/2010: Replaced the container because of logs reporting the first container was very wet. The new container is a bit too large for its enclosure, which probably makes it a slightly easier, but potentially less fun find. I may be back in the fall with a better fitting container.

I also added a waypoint for a trail junction which you can use, if you are walking north on Bear Hill Rd (from Sheepfold Parking). If you are coming from the north (from Fallon Rd parking), the trail should be more or less obvious behind the tower.
