Another in a series of traditional hides in Burcot. 1.5-ish litre, snap-shut plastic box. Quality selection of swag, primarily intended for children (but a trickle of bugs and coins to keep it interesting for all). Conveniently, you can park almost on top of the coordinates.
Ideal cache and dash, if you aren't feeling compelled to do the mile-ish round-trip walk to check the swag in Burcot the Second (GC220C7) or Burcot the Fourth.
Cache is named in honour of a freeway interchange in southern Orange County, California where the Santa Ana Freeway (Interstate 5) and the San Diego Freeway (Interstate 405) merge. The interchange was named for the now closed Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, located north of the interchange. Not only is the "Y" is one of the busiest interchanges in the world, it was the first waypoint for any significant car journey when I was a boy.
When you park for this cache, you will see the "Burcot Y" resplendent between you and the A4074. Note that this relatively new road arrangement will only allow you to leave Burcot Farm Road heading north (toward the Golden Balls Roundabout) and arrive into it from the south. In essence, for safety reasons, no more right turns at this intersection -- although frequent travellers of this stretch of the A4074 will have witnessed spectacular, wrong-way U-turns made to defy the Y.
Don't worry about the surveillance camera signs: ironically wherever they are they're for fly-tippers, not geocachers working under the CITO motto.

Rounding off the so-called "Burcot Bundle" (an homage to the "Dorchester Dawdle" series laid by Junie's), Burcot the First (GC20D8W) is a nanocache and Burcot the Fifth is a 35mm film canister. Only Burcot the Second, Third and Fourth are what the mini cashandcarries like to call "treasure caches."
