St. Genevieve's Church Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

tlepinski: First the final stage was dug up and had to be relocated to a place that didn't really make sense with the cache. Since then two more of the stages have become unavailable. Despite this GPS Men persevered and made it to the new final (only to find it had been muggled). So I am archiving this cache as it doesn't seem to be able to survive (much like the original church). I thank everyone who took the time to go through all the steps to find this one and I welcome GPS Men to log it as a find as well.

Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the given coordinates. You must solve the puzzle below.

St. Genevieve's Church is a major part of Las Cruces history. Built over 150 years ago, the church can be seen in some of the earliest photographs of the city. Unfortunately, the original church was demolished in the late 1960s to make room for the downtown mall. (Urban renewal at its finest.) This cache was placed on January 3rd--the feast day of St. Genevieve of Paris--as a way to remember the church and its history.

In keeping with current local tradition, this cache is an urban micro. However, it will require a bit more effort to find. First, you must solve the completely unrelated puzzle below which will give you coordinates to Stage 1. A correct solution in the coordinate checker will also give you the questions that need to be answered at each stage.

Next, you will need to go to each of the first three stages and get the appropriate information. (There are no physical containers at Stage 1-3.) Finally, you'll have the coordinates for the final location which is in walking distance of Stage 3. (You'll probably want to drive to the first 3 stages but they are all within a mile or two of each other.) Good luck!
