A small cache just 1 step off trail near the Mt. Sombroso.
I had the day off for Martin Luther King's birthday, and wanted to go for a hike. But rain was forecast. A friend suggested Wood Road in Sierra Azul. I've wanted to go to Mt. Sombroso from the Hicks Road side for years, ever since I first made the ascent from the Lexington side.
The weather was a bit more severe than I expected, but I still had an incredible time. Because of the rain I couldn't see the views ... when you log this cache, please post pics so I can see what I missed! :)
The cache is a "baby 2 liter bottle" - a large test tube. It holds a log and that's all - bring a pen. The cache is barely off trail; just one step will do it.
