This series is run by FantasticCat (The FTF Greater London #1 cache
is GC1N994) and is a continuation of the series that Dorsetgal
started in Dorset, after hearing about it how it got established in
the US on the Podcacher Podcast. Hopefully in time it will become
established nationwide!
As Groundspeak has now prohibited the publication of caches
which required you to hide another cache as a condition of logging
the FTF find, you do NOT have to place another cache as a condition
of logging the FTF but it would be nice if you did (particularly
for YOU!), so the chain is not broken!
Guidelines for this series are below:
1. FTF'er should place the next cache in the series (in this case,
The Curse of the FTF #16!) within 1 month... Otherwise the curse
will prevent you from ever getting another FTF again!!!
Muhahahahahahahaha!
2. You can only be a FTF for this series once. This spreads the FTF
love around, and gives others a chance to play along.
3. Cache can be any type of cache (Puzzle, Multi, etc.), but I do
ask that you set it in Greater London (there are 33 London boroughs
making up Greater London; Enfield in the North down to Croydon and
Bromley in the South, Hillingdon in the West through to Havering in
the East).
4. You must include this set of guidelines in your listing for the
series. I (FantasticCat) will be happy to answer any questions
concerning the guidelines or about the placing of caches to those
who have not placed a cache before.
By way of clarification, there is no requirement besides the
standard signing of the cache log to prevent you from logging this
cache when found. Everyone should log their find, and hopefully the
FTF person will play along and place another cache, but it is in no
way a requirement for logging your find.

Jewels Wood is an area of woodland just outside the Borough and was
formerly part of the Fairchilds Estate which included much of the
New Addington area. The wood was purchased by the Corporation in
1944 under Section 157 of the Croydon Corporation Act 1924 for the
benefit and improvement of the Borough.
It’s a relatively quiet area so you’ll have plenty of
time to rummage around. This also means you’ll actively need
to look where you are going, as the paths aren’t always that
obvious, don’t let the arrow on your gps fool you unless you
have a fetish for bushwhacking!
In the gallery you will find a map with 2 suggested approach routes
to GZ, but obviously there are more roads leading to Rome. Should
you use one of the suggested routes on the map the total distance
there and back for either approach is about 1.6 miles, the western
approach being relatively flat and the eastern more
hilly.
Be aware both require you to cross a busy road, so be
careful!
