The new building stands on Vörösmarty Square, which commemorates a famous poet, beside the Vidago theatre, whose neo-classic façade overlooks the Danube. There are two levels of luxury boutiques (6 000 m2)and three levels of offices (5 725 m2) around an atrium for art shows. There are also two levels of housing (2 987 m2), service premises for the Vigado theatre (3 500 m2), a terrace for public and private events (880 m2) and four levels of parking space (504 slots). The terrace commands Vorösmarty Square and gives visitors spectacular views over the old city, the Danube and the Royal castle, opposite the high part of Buda and its famous baths. The building has a concrete skeleton composed of cylindrical posts, dressed out by glass scales held in place by a metal mesh structure. The glass skin wraps in curves to form façades and roof, giving rise to complex geometrical assemblages. The glass scales are offset to form louvers that bring air in between the double skin. This project replaced an unsightly office block built in 1962, whose demolition came as a relief to the people. They see the new building as the sign of a new era.	A jelenlegi épület közvetlen elodje, az 1971-ben épült irodaház a szocialista Magyarország kultúrpolitikájának meghatározó helyszíne volt, mivel számos muvészeti szervezetnek itt volt a székhelye. A masszív, brutalista irodaházat a pesti köznyelv csak Elizélt-palotaként emlegette, a párizsi Elysée-palota nevének eltorzításával a belvárosba kevéssé illeszkedo beton-üveg homlokzatra utalva. Miután a rendszerváltással a ház jelentoségét vesztette, az új tulajdonos a bontása mellett döntött. Az új tömb a francia Jean-Paul Viguier és a magyar Fazakas Architects tervei alapján épült fel. A 4+7 szintes épületet rombusz-szerkesztésu acélrács öleli át, amelyet Fazakas egy alkalommal neccharisnyához hasonlított. Az alul tágabb, felül surubb szövésu, a sarkokon ívesen átforduló hálót az irodaszintek elott háromszög alakú üvegpikkelyek borítják, míg a legfelso két szint luxuslakásai elott szabadon fut. Itt a lejjebb érdekes fényviszonyokat és tükrözodéseket létrehozó homlokzati üvegezés is zártabbra vált. A ház középso átriumát köztérnek szánták, de a nemes gesztus a visszájára fordult, mivel a második emelet felett fekvo teret nehéz megközelíteni.
