March 1 - 4, 2013, a group of Swedish geocachers visited Ukraine and I was one of them. The main peaks of the trip where the visits to the restricted Chernobyl area including the ghost town of Pripyat (При́п'ять) and the visit to the Swedish/Russian battlefield of Poltava. Personally, I greatly enjoyed the traditional Ukrainian cuisine and along with good friends I visited several restaurants both in Kiev, Chernobyl and Poltava. The dish I liked the best was the варе́ники, so when I found this monument I just had to honor it with a cache!
Here at the Sobornyi Maidan (Cathedral Square) you can also get a great view over the city of Poltava.
