Geocache Description:

Please use caution when searching - see previous notes

“The park was acquired in 1857 and was laid out by the world renowned Sir Joseph Paxton. The park was dedicated to the memory of Mary, Queen of Scots." The park of great historical value and was the site of the sixteenth century Battle of Langside. One of my favourite things to do as a child was to visit on a Sunday afternoon to listen to and dance along with the bands that played in the bandstand or be entertained by a punch and Judy show. Then off for a ride on the pony trap. Sadly these activities are no longer available. In my teens I would take my niece here to play then stop off for an ice cream on the way home. The Cafe is still there and still serves what I think is the best ice cream ever.

I dedicate this cache to my niece.

The cache is in a small box so not much room for anything much and you will need a pen/pencil.
