The Scouting Around JW (Joyden's Wood) series (currently 5 caches) takes the cacher on a loop around part of Joyden's Wood - owned by the Woodland Trust.
I enjoy walking / running / cycling around these woods and hope this series encourages others to enjoy this lovely area. I chose the theme as I am a local Scout Leader and hope to use this series to introduce some young people to geocaching.
I would like to thank the Woodland Trust for their support in setting out this series. There are two other caches close to this circuit. All the caches are very close to paths.
If you are going to cycle please check where you can cycle - you can not reach all the caches on a bike.
Explorers is the 4th Section in the Scout Movement and so this cache is a little harder. I hope you enjoy the cache it took me ages to think of it.
As the early visitors have had GPS problems, I thought I wouild be kind and give a more detailed description. Intended direction to approach cache is from the track to the SE of the cache location. This track is running approx SW to NE. You should get a good signal on this track. When close to cache you should find a path leading towards the cache location. Follow the path and on your left hand side you will see a small hollow or depression. The cache is in the location in the hint on the edge of the hollow / depression. Good luck!
Cache is not at published co-ordinates. Cache can be found at:
