Although this trail system is open to the public it's enterance borders the Chichester Central School property and is used for outdoor classroom activities. Please be respectful of the "youngsters"! Trail maps are available at the trail head kiosk. Chichester Town property set aside in 2006 using funds from Moose Plate Project and a NHSCC Grant.
Jackson Mill (a circular saw mill) was built in 1861. The foundation and parts of the mill wheel still exist. The site was a stop on the Suncook Railway and you could stay in a nearby boarding house for $5 a week. The mill was abandoned in 1905.
The Amphitheatre provides a seating area for resting when not in use by the youngsters!
The Chichester Town Library Summer Reading Program has a Letter Box at this site also.
Congrats for FTF Morrills!
