In Celebration of Ten Years of Geocaching come out and enjoy the
company of fellow cachers in Hobart. We can trade coins, stories,
and maybe even go out and get some caches before and after the
event!!
On 3rd May 2000 the first cache was hidden by Dave Ulmer.
On Monday 8th March 2010 the number of active caches worldwide
exceeded one million.
This is your opportunity to meet friends old and new to share
your caching stories, your coin collections, have some fun and even
some new caches.
The above co-ordinates are for hut 9 Leatherwood at Tolosa Park.
yes I know its in Glenorchy, but I'm talking greater Hobart
area.
Programme:
12:00 Munch and Mingle.
Bring along food and beverages of your choice. The BBQ will be hot.
Meet new friends, put names to cachers, share caching stories,
gather hints if you need them and just have fun.
1:15. Photo Shoot.
To qualify as a 10 year event (and get a special icon on your
profile page) we must submit a festive photo of our group (minimum
of 10 cachers)
1:30 We'll cut the 10 year birthday cake.
2:00.Finish
Release of new caches. I have asked some local cachers to publish
new caches just for the 10th celebration.
They will not go live until the next day (May 3) so there will be
printouts giving everyone who is in attendance a chance of a
FTF.
