Geocache Description:


It is one of shinto shrines Shirahige shinto shrine is sideward of the bank in Sumida-river, and with the histories oldest in Mukojima. There are a lot of stone monument and 9 Sumida-Ward protection trees in precicts. Moreover, Shirahige shinto shrine is recorded unlike another though is one of the Sumida-river 7 gods of good fortune, no "Jurojin" it and "Juroshin".

白鬚神社は隅田川の堤の脇にあり、向島では最古の由緒ある神社のうちの１つです。境内には多くの石碑と９本の墨田区保護樹木があります。また、隅田川七福神の１つなのですが、他とは違って「寿老人」ではなく「寿老神」と名乗っています。たぶん鬚が神っぽいからでしょう。
