Let the games begin!
Geocaching is a game we all play, and the world is our amusement park. If we had some land, we would set up our own "Geocacheland" on it, with all kinds of hides and challenges... rock cliffs, water crossings, swamps, a faux cemetery, lots of guard rails and pine trees, even a tank or two. There would be a freezer spot called "Winter Wonderland" for those who enjoy searching in the ice and snow, and another spot called "The Puzzle Shack", complete with work stations and tables to bang heads on, where those so inclined could anguish by themselves or with others on those tricky solves. The possibilities are endless. But we don't have the land, so no Geocacheland at our place.
However, there are many, many public places in our area for people to visit, so instead of building our own amusement park, we have created one using existing locations. Starting with the given coordinates, you will be led from familiar place to familiar place looking for familiar containers. Each container will have the coordinates for the next waypoint and will say what kind of container and location to look for.
There are seven containers to find, with a log book to sign at the last one. The difficulty level is rated such because seven containers need to be found, seven waypoints need to be entered correctly, and seven containers need to still be in place. The terrain level is based mainly on the last two locations that involve longer walks. This multi-cache is meant to be done using a car/truck/motorcycle, but it can be done on a bicycle, too. A close safe place to leave your car and to unload and load your bicycle is at Burt Morris Park in the City of Adams. Coordinates are listed as a waypoint below.
Stealth potential varies with each waypoint location, so on a scale of 1-5, with five needing the most stealth, here are stealth factors for each waypoint: WP1-4, WP2-3, WP3-3, WP4-2, WP5-3, WP6-1. WP7-1.
All of the smaller containers are placed to be found even if there is snow on the ground, while the larger ones may require a bit of searching in the winter. There is parking at each spot except the first, so try to pull over there if it is available. At the locations where hunting is allowed, please wear blaze orange in season, and perhaps return at a different time if you see hunting vehicles in the area, although you do have as much right to be on the properities as the hunters do.
Please close all containers tightly and return them exactly where you found them. If you feel that any of the coordinates are off and need to be fine-tuned, please send us an email with your suggested coordinates. DO NOT POST ANY IN YOUR LOGS! As a side note, WP 4 and WP 5 are containers we received as door prizes at the "Only the Lonely Can Play" events in 2009 and 2010. We thank the donors for their contributions.

For those waypoints on DNR land, the Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Justine Hasz of the Wisconsin Rapids office of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager.
