This is a multi part night puzzle in the Little La Crosse River
area. This was initially intended to be two seperate caches, but
had to be changed into a single cache as waypoints cannot be shared
between two caches. You can log this cache twice, once for each log
you sign, the negative and positive.
Local explorers have been at it again this time in the Melvina area
of Monroe County. They have discovered what they believe may be the
remains of an alien power supply, that has been split in 2 parts,
negative and positive. While analyzing the parts, they discovered
that under specific lighting conditions the power supplies and most
of the other alien items they have found will absorb the light
around them and glow of there own accord when put into darkness.
What suprised them even more was when they changed the frequency of
light into the UV range they got much brighter and flourescent.
Using this light enabled them to read and decode the writings on
the container remains that used to hold the power supply.
Using the symbols and items found in this container, they hid the
two halves of the power supply in the area near the original
container. Using the proper lighting equipment you will be able to
decode the symbols, and as you get close to the half of the power
supply you are looking for you will notice some rings found inside
with the power supplies, when you see these you will know you are
very close. If you use the correct lighting, the power supplies
will literally shine thru the darkness and expose themselves.
You are looking for the two halves of the power supply.
The decoder key is at the above posted coordinates, the contents of
the container will direct you to the two halves of the power
supply, located at the following coordinates.
Positive
N 43 48.(raindrop)(star)(circle)
W 090 45.(semi-circle)(circle)(circle)
Negative
N 43 48.(semi-circle)(crescent moon)(X)
W 090 45.(semi-circle)(circle)(X)
A special thanks to drhaas for the donation of parts of the final
containers
A matchstick holder with 2 alien pellets has been deposited at the
parking coordinates so you can test to make sure you have the
proper light source before walking thru the area at night.
Please note, attempting this cache in the sunlight may break it so
others cannot enjoy it. And it will be almost impossible to figure
out where the final stage is anyway.
The Geocache Notification form has been submitted to La Crosse
Wisconsin DNR Service Center. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin
