Welcome to the Jolly Jamestown June LWE 2010




When? - 11-14th June 2010

Where? - Jamestown in mid north of SA.
- Bundaleer Forest, SW of Jamestown.

Why? - To have fun, frivolity, adventure, camaraderie

** LATEST UPDATE 5th June 2010**

GZ has changed slightly - is now the Table Tennis Clubrooms which was our
original location. The clubrooms are adjacent to the powered sites and on
the other side of the oval from the showers. GZ should now be.

** EVENT PROGRAM ** you will receive a hard copy of all info including map
on Saturday morning.

Friday - Setup for those who arrive early. Camping is available at GZ.
Organise your own meals.

** Powered sites are all allocated sorry.

Saturday morning 11am - Sign in, pay up $20 per team + camping
fees if applicable, then meet, greet and brief. Head out to place your team
cache (see pic). Each team will place and record the co-ordinates of a single
cache. The cache from each team may be a permanent traditional
(subject to gc.com approval). There will be prizes for best camo, and most
innovative hide. Nothing over three star, and no micros, please.
Bonus points for placing caches more than 200m from a road.


Saturday Early Evening 4pm - Return cache placement co-ords and
quarantine GPSrs for upload (USB sticks or memory cards can be
supplied at this time as well). Games for kids and adults mingle and brag
about caching exploits.

Saturday Evening 6pm - Dinner event "JOLLY JAMESTOWN
JUNKET GEOCACHING DINNER" at the Commercial Hotel for those
who wish to attend. 80 person limit.

** dining room is full, meals are available in other areas of Commercial
Hotel


Saturday Evening late 8pm - Activities and Supper at the Showgrounds.

Sunday Early morning 8:30 am – Sausage, bacon and egg sandwich and
coffee/tea at the Showgrounds. Supplied by Event

Sunday 9am - Event briefing and photos. Cache hunting to start from 9:30am.

Sunday 3 to 4pm - All caching to be finished. Logbooks and caches returned
to Showgrounds. There will be severe point deduction for not being back on
time, and there will be significant points for picking up your temporary cache after the completion of caching.

Sunday Early evening 5:30 pm - BBQ meal on the oval. Self cook BBQs will
be available. Jamestown Foodland is open all weekend.

Sunday evening 6:30 pm – Mad Hatter’s Presentation night, Basket supper
and prize presentations.
Each team should bring a wrapped prize to the value of $10-$15.
Entertainment will be a Red Faces format. Bring your favourite skit, song,
instrument, magic trick, pop quiz, etc. Prizes for Mad Hats & Red faces skit

Monday morning - recovery, clean up and drive home.

** WEEKEND TOWN QUIZ
A caching quiz has been set up for the town area within the Jamestown parklands.
This quiz will run over both days of the event. Score in the quiz will contribute to
your total team score.

** CITO
There will be CITO points awarded for the return of a bag of rubbish per team
collected over the weekend.

** JOLLY JAMESTOWN JUNKET GEOCACHING DINNER
A dinner event will be held at the Commercial Hotel, Jamestown. Cost $25 a head,
children $8. Please see dinner event listing for more detail. Payment will be
direct to the venue on event night.

The Play Area – refer to map, you will be given a hard &/or soft copy
North Boundary = S33 10.000
South Boundary = S33 20.000
West Boundary = E138 30.000
East Boundary = E138 40.000
Area within town common is to be out of bounds for committee purposes.
Bonus points will be given for caches placed and found more than 200m walk from
roads. There are plenty of fire trails beyond locked gates in the forest.

Reminder to all event goers.
• Cachers are reminded to bring a UHF radio if available.
• If you have a PC cable for your GPS please make sure it is available for upload
and download.
• If you want to try to get a Black Thunder token but don’t have a UHF radio Please
forward your mobile number to mluke@bureauveritas.com. We will be texting
SMS messages during the cache hunt. • A CITO cache will be run in conjunction with the main event so don’t forget to
bring some bags for the rubbish you collect.
• Registration cost is the usual $20 a team and a $10-$15 wrapped gift.

The local police will be notified of the event so they will be able to respond to any
queries by locals.

We want this to be a safe event for all concerned anyone charged with a road traffic
act will be disqualified from the game.
Drive safe and observe speed limit.
There are going to be a lot of children out there this weekend.

Facilities
There is separate mens and womens showers. Five of each.
Womens showers are cubicles.
There is a BBQ shed that we can use.
There is a kitchen in clubrooms.
We re still checking whether we can have a fire place.
