Lazy Sunday afternoon. Took some friends' kids down to Hunua Falls for a look around and a swim, and decided to hide a Geocache nearby for the fun of it. We showed the kids how to use the eTrex and parked somewhere around S 37deg 06.731' E 175deg 07.425'.
Take the Suspension Bridge Track straight up to the first quite spectacular lookout. After sitting down for a minute, take a wander through the bush for about 15 metres. The cache was once upon a time an ice cream container (now appears to be a small transparent plastic container) and should be sitting behind a generic tree, hidden under some punga leaves.
Please note: This cache was placed in 2001, however I don't live in NZ anymore, so I'm not able to maintain this cache - but I'm hoping the Geocaching community will continue to keep it alive on my behalf (they have done a tremendous job so far, it sounds like it's an entirely different cache than it was back when I last saw it. You know how humans regenerate their cells every 7 years? So does this cache) So - please please please do me a favour, read the logs before going to visit this one and just see if others have reported anything wrong with the cache. If you just take a new pen, replacement container, new logbook or something like that, you'll be helping me infinitely!!
Goal: to make this the longest lasting still-live cache in NZ :)
