Geocache Description:

THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL LETTERBOX - NO STAMPS INCLUDED - IT IS A GEOCACHE INVOLVING THE SWAPPING OF POST CARDS

This cache is located at the site of an old lime kiln, established in 1730. There is some background information about this conservation area at www.altasys.com/bct . It is a sensitive site and deserves respect. Please be gentle on the environment.

Parking is available on the side of the highway at 42º 26' 305" 071º 33' 958". It is off Rt. 117 in Bolton, MA. Parking is directly next to a brown board fence and an old farmhouse. There is a trail map at the trailhead indicating sites of interest.

Begin your tour at the mill ruins (sign #25) and the old quarries (sign #24) on your way to the Big Rock Cave at 42º 26' 265" 071º 34' 293". Don't miss this site. It is way cool.

Continue onward and follow the trail sign northerly toward the Harris Farm.

Locate the Return to Sender cache at 42º 26' 362" 071º 34' 277"

Visit the quarry (sign #19) at 42º 26' 443" 071º 34' 012".

Last stop on your tour will take you to the Bolton Lime Kiln near 42º 26' 373" 071º 33' 978".

This is a POSTCARD cache only. No cameras, NO LETTER BOX STAMPS, no finder buttons, no toys or prizes. It's simple, really. Bring along one or two postcards, pre-stamped and ADDRESSED! You may address a postcard to yourself or to a friend, or both. Postage is .35 for domestic post cards (buy Forever stamps). Stickers will be available at the cache that you can add to your postcards.

When you arrive at the cache, put a "FOUND IT" sticker on the postcard you want mailed back to YOU. The next person to find the cache will leave their cards at the cache site and mail your card back to you. If you left extra cards for friends, those will be mailed out as well.

If you brought along extra postcards to be mailed to friends who may not be cachers, there are other stickers at the cache to identify what this crazy adventure is all about. They will refer your friends to the www.geocaching.com web site.

Cache finders - Get fancy if you like. Add a short note, a signature, and a date on the postcards before you mail them. Or just drop them in a mailbox as is. Leave your cards at the cache. You should receive one back in the mail in a short time unless, of course, no one visits the cache for a while. Hey, Mr. Postman...!
