La posesion de Raixa cuenta con sus impresionantes jardines llenos de estatuas, un pequeño templo octogonal con una higuera en medio, una capilla y grandes estanques de agua, asi como unas esplendidas vistas sobre Palma.
Eran propiedad de la familia Despuig desde 1620.
En 1797 el cardenal Antonio Despuig y Dameto viajó a Roma y desde allí se trajo las ideas neoclasicas, que dan su carácter a la imagen general del parque hasta la actualidad.
Buena parte de la colección de esculturas, que el cardenal recogio durante su vida en Raixa, estan hoy en día en el Castell de Bellver de Palma de Mallorca.
Hace algunos años, el magnate australiano Christofer Skase quiso comprar Raixa. Michael Douglas tambien estaba interesado. Jil Sander queria conseguirlo como fuese.
Afortunadamente, el gobierno de la isla la compró y la restauro con un importantre esfuerzo.
Así Raixa es desde septiembre de 2009 volver al público para su inspección disponibles. Por desgracia!Favor de traer una pluma.
The manor house Raixa, with an impressing park, spouting sculptures, a small octagonal temple in the midst of fig cactuses, a small chapel and a huge water container with balcony, as well as a splendid view over the plain of Palma, was in Family Despuig's possession since 1620.
In 1797 Cardinal Antonio Despuig y Damento traveled to Rome and from there he brought back the neo'classical ideas, who give their character to the general picture of the park until today.
A sculpture collection, which the Cardinal collected during his life in Raixa, is nowadays on view at the Castell de Bellver above Palma.
Some years ago the australian magnate Christofer Skase wants to buy Raixa. Michael Douglas was interested. Jil Sander absolutely wants to get it.
Fortunately the island government bought and let it restore with high effort.
So Raixa is since September 2009 back to the public for inspection available. Please take a pen and dont´t take to many stones.
Der Herrensitz Raixa mit beeindruckender Gartenanlage, wasserspeienden Skulpturen, einem kleinen achteckigen Tempel inmitten von Feigenkakteen, einer kleinen Kapelle und einem riesigen Wasserreservoir mit Freisitz und einem herrlichen Blick in die Ebene von Palma, war seit 1620 im Besitz der Familie Despuig. 1797 reiste Kardinal Antonio Despuig y Dameto nach Rom und brachte von dort die neoklassizistischen Ideen mit, die bis heute das Gesamtbild der Gartenanlage bestimmen. Eine Skulpturensammlung, die der Kardinal im Laufe seines Lebens in Raixa zusammentrug, ist heute im Schloss Bellver über Palma zu besichtigen.
Vor einigen Jahren wollte der australische Magnat Christofer Skase es kaufen, Michael Douglas hat sich dafür interessiert, Jil Sander wollte es unbedingt haben. Zum Glück kaufte es die Inselregierung und ließ es aufwendig renovieren.
So steht Raixa seit September 2009 wieder der Öffentlichkeit zur Besichtigung zur Verfügung. Bitte einen Stift mitbringen und das Versteck nicht mit Steinen überhäufen.
